Alors...ZARA!

As Rosemount Australian Fashion week kicks off in Sydney, what better way to celebrate than welcoming our first ever Zara store!


The Spanish fashion company opened its doors a few weeks ago at the Westfield Sydney, city store.


I have been long awaiting for the day that Zara would come to Australia, since I discovered their clothing in Nice and Paris in January last year.


I remember walking into the store on the Champs- Elysées and thinking how amazing everything was- such well made, high-end fashion clothing at affordable prices!


My accompanying fashionista and I worked our way through both stores finding classic pieces that we will treasure forever. One item in particular is my grey/gold, linen, A- line, high waisted skirt- which I absolutely adore!


I look forward to seeing what the Sydney Zara store has to offer this season, with its exclusive Southern Hemisphere collection, plus a handful of European inspired pieces!

Chanel prêt-à-porter automne-hiver 2011-12

Karl Lagerfeld has done it again, he has delivered an absolute masterpiece this fall/winter!

Le Grand Palais à Paris revealed the latest collection of Chanel on March 8, 2011.

I have watched this link over and over again, each time being completely amazed by the portrayal of class, elegance and creativity.

The designs are unique, exquisite with the majority of creations being predominately black, representing the dark mood of the season.

The smoky runway together with the sounds of the symphony creates an eerie yet seductive feel for the evening. Who else but Karl Lagerfeld would think to turn The Cure's 'A Forest' into an orchestral piece.

The overall collaboration is a true credit to the label, intertwining fashion, art and music - a true inspiration.

Black is once again the colour for this season. You are almost certain to create a classic look simply by wearing black.

The little black dress was created in the 1920's by the most influential female designer of all time, Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel. Following a latte, croissant and read of the latest Vogue one morning, I came across a divine little number in the Liza Emanuel boutique, Hyde Park.

The design of this dress is simple with a classic cut. The material is a combination of thick polyester and viscose which is effortless to wear and helps to create the perfect feminine silhouette.

It is also fantastic to see that this garment in made in Australia as there are very few Australian designers who still manufacture their designs here.

To accompany this classic number, team with a nude or bold lip colour, black patient shoes and a simple mimco bag.

Noir is chic and fabulous as always so keep and eye out for the perfect little black dress for you this season!

Day light savings is now upon us, which means fresh mornings, long blacks, warm scarves and layers of fine garments.

I was in rundle mall yesterday and spotted so many gorgeous pieces for this season including; silk blouses, tights and stockings with intricate designs, over-sized scarves, fine leather gloves, tailored coats/trenches and many more inspiring looks.

A good way to begin your hunt for unique transitional pieces is to make a list of specific items that stand out, that way you can work out if you can mix and match them during the season.

Nude and shades of shell pink are a hit again this season. With timeless numbers seen amongst the Valentino Autumn/Winter Collection during Paris Fashion Week 2011.

Delicate fabrics and simple feminine lines dominate the collection.

As the cooler months begin to approach us, now is a fabulous time to begin searching for winter wardrobe classics! There is nothing more flattering than a tailored winter coat to complete even the most simplest of outfits.

Here is one I absolutely adore, worn by actress Anna Mouglalis. The Jade green, pure wool coat looks simply stunning on her. Some of my other favourite shades for this coming season are taupe, royal blue, navy and of course black.

There are also some fantastic winter accessories making their way into boutiques. The new Mimco range has some exquisite pieces ranging from bags, gloves, boots and scarves.
